Ilfracombe, Longreach - Stockmans and Qantus Museums
Finally on the road after a week at Charles Lloyd Jones Weir.
Between Barcaldine and Longreach in the town, well let's say a cluster of buildings, with a fantastic open air museum.
Some neat treasure in here.
Now you what a FURPHY is!
A cllection of old machinery follows_____
This one is of interest as it's one of only three in the world. It's a Perkins built Bulldozer. Hence the roof to protect it from the elements.
The above where part of a local parade in Longreach.
Stockmans hall of Fame, just so much information, anything I could put here would not do it justice. You will have to see it for yourself, well worth a visit, along with the Qantus Museum next, which is just across the road.
QANTUS Founders Outback Museum, not cheap but worth it!
One of Qantus first aircrafts.
A JUMBO engine up close
On the wing.
The internals - fly by wire stuff before all the electronic wizardry
Just testing the controls
Last but not least the pilot's got to sleep some where!
Next stop who know's still raining and flood waters still flowing towards Lake Eyre.
